Each year, UHD’s Staff Council and Police Department (UHDPD) help make a difference in our community by collecting food and money to provide Thanksgiving meals and toys and gift cards to provide December holiday toys for families in need.

This year mark’s the 6th year of their holiday giving campaign.

How to Donate for Thanksgiving Meals

Individuals interested in donating to Thanksgiving meals can do so by November 22 with either a monetary donation or Thanksgiving food for a full meal (turkey, canned goods, water, soda, etc.).

Donations can be given to a member of UHDPD. Please let them know it is for the Thanksgiving meals. Cash donations should be sealed in an envelope with the donor’s name on it.

How to Donate for December Holiday Toys

People interested in donating a toy for elementary school-age children can drop off their toy donation at the UHDPD.

Items being collected are:

• Unwrapped toys for elementary-age children
• Gift cards for restaurants that can be used for lunch by middle/high school students.

Deadline for December toy donation is December 20.
