Tier 1 drug copays reduced, Caremark mails ID cards

On September 1, Texas Employees Group Benefits Program (GBP) participants started paying about 33% less for Tier 1 prescription drugs, which include most generic drugs.

The copay for Tier 1 drugs is now $10 for a 30-day supply, down from $15. The cost for a 31- to 90-day supply is $30 for maintenance and non-maintenance medication, down from $45.

Caremark started mailing new ID cards to all its members at the end of August. The new ID cards reflect the reduced copays for Tier 1 prescription drugs.
