Benefits

KelseyCare new medical benefit option

Starting September 1, 2015, a new HMO, KelseyCare powered by Community Health Choice (KelseyCare powered by Community), will be available to eligible participants in the Houston area. A participant can go to any provider in the KelseyCare powered by Community network without a referral. He or she does not have to select a primary care physician (PCP) under this plan.

During Summer Enrollment, you can visit the KelseyCare powered by Community website for more information, including:

  • covered services,
  • a list of providers near you,
  • drugs covered by the plan and
  • care management services.

You can find premium contribution rates for KelseyCare powered by Community on the Plan Year 2016 rate sheet.

Service area

You and your eligible dependents can enroll in KelseyCare powered by Community if you live or work in any of the following counties:

  • Brazoria,
  • Fort Bend,
  • Galveston,
  • Harris or
  • Montgomery.

Please make sure to update the county in which you live or work in ERS OnLine. If you have moved to one of the five eligible counties recently and have not updated the information with ERS, the HMO will not show as an option on the Summer Enrollment screen. You cannot update the county information by yourself during Summer Enrollment; you will have to contact your benefits coordinator to update it for you.

Comparison of benefits

Some information about the plan was not included in the Plan Year 2016 benefits guide you received recently in the mail. The health insurance comparison chart now includes additional information on the KelseyCare powered by Community plan.

You can call KelseyCare powered by Community at (844) 515-4877 or locally at (713) 295-6792, TTY 711, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.
