The FY2016 UHS Mandatory Training period began October 1, 2015 and runs through Friday, November 20, 2015 at 5 p.m. This is a system-wide requirement for ALL University employees and includes full- and part-time faculty and staff, student workers, and temporary employees paid through the UHD payroll system.
UHD employees should have received a personalized email at the beginning of October that outlines the FY2016 trainings for which they have been enrolled and need to complete.
Mandatory training includes the following:
- Four Primary Trainings – EEO, Ethics & Fraud, Secure Our Systems, and FERPA (SN1601 – SN1604)
- External Consulting and Related Party. This is applicable to faculty and exempt staff, as well as non-exempt staff, that have purchasing responsibilities and/or have participated in consulting efforts. Student employees will not receive this form
- Any role-based mandatory training identified by your department heads for you to complete.
Employees will be able to access their required training by logging into the new Training Access Portal (TAP) at http://login.tap.uh.edu/ by using their PeopleSoft login information (Employee ID and password). Subsequently, they will receive a weekly status email listing any training that has not been completed. Once the employee has successfully completed all the required training, they will receive a final email validating successful completion.
If an employee has been enrolled in and completed New Hire Mandatory Training for FY16 (SM1601 – SM1604), they will not be enrolled in FY16 Annual Mandatory Training (SN1601 – SN1604). However, this employee must have completed New Hire Mandatory Training FY16 in a timely manner to be in compliance with SAM 02.A.11 and SAM 02.A.26.
As a reminder, UHS policy outlines the consequences of not completing this training by the prescribed timeline as follows:
“System mandated training is considered a minimum job expectation of all employees. System employees who do not complete annual mandatory training by the published deadline will not have met their job expectations and will therefore not be eligible for merit increases (SAM 02.A.11)” and “It is the responsibility of each System employee to complete annual mandatory training. System employees who do not complete annual mandatory training by the published deadline will not have met their job expectations and will therefore not be eligible for merit increases. Supervisors are responsible for monitoring their employees’ training performance (SAM 02.A.26).”
Questions regarding this training or technical assistance with an employee’s PeopleSoft ID should be directed to Employment Services and Operations at 713-221-8060.
