Dating violence and sexual assault are widespread problems across the U.S., especially against young adults, but the Circle of 6 U app is trying to change that with GPS technology and anti-violence resources.
Circle of 6 U, a White House “Apps Against Abuse” Technology challenge winner, is a free app designed to prevent sexual violence. When a person is in a potentially dangerous situation, the app automatically sends a designated circle of six a pre-programmed SMS alert message with your exact location. It’s quick. It’s discreet. Two taps on your phone is all it takes.
How to get it:
- Go to the Itunes or Android Store and download Circle of 6 U.
- Once you do, open the app and an option will appear for you to add one number that is not already in your contacts. Most people add a 24 hour emergency hotline number just in case they need it.
