February is Black History Month. The Writing and Reading Center (WRC) will celebrate by hosting a reading of poetry and short stories written by black authors February 27 from 1-2 p.m. in N-420.
For one hour, attendees can share passages of literature from any black author they wish to celebrate. This includes authors from the African, African-American and Afro-LatinX communities. Attendees can even share their own original work. In addition to the readings, the Writing Center will provide pizza and refreshments.
Attendees can enjoy free pizza and drinks.
In pursuit of its dual mission, the UHD Writing & Reading Center facilitates UHD student, staff, and faculty efforts to read, write, think critically, and communicate, and provides student peer tutors of writing with a rich teaching and learning experience and ongoing professional development in writing center research, theory, and tutoring practice.
