Due to COVID, The Scholars Academy found itself with the challenge of mailing out 35 graduating senior recognition stoles.  They wanted these special students to have the stoles for their virtual walk across the stage. 

When Debora Evans and her team in the UHD Mailroom learned about the special mailing, they decided to go “above and beyond” and not just mail the packages for the Scholars Academy, but get the addresses and stoles and package and mail them out to the graduates.

Several students were surprised to receive their stoles and were excited to share the honor with their families and their virtual walk, according to Mary Jo Parker, Executive Director of the Scholars Academy.

“These essential workers are absolutely that…they help our students through assisting the departments make things happen, especially during this COVID season! Many thanks to all the UHD mail department,” said Parker.
