Participants in the HealthSelect of TexasSM plans, including Consumer Directed HealthSelectSM, will soon receive new medical ID cards in the mail. The new cards will show the updated annual deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums for the 2024 calendar year. The new medical plan cards from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) are in addition to the new prescription drug program cards from Express Scripts.
Deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums reset Jan. 1 each year. The out-of-pocket maximum amount is the most participants will pay for in-network medical care in a calendar year. Participants can check the back of the ID card to see annual deductible and out-of-pocket maximum amounts.
There is no deductible for the HealthSelect of Texas plan when participants use in-network providers. The Consumer Directed HealthSelect plan has separate in-network and out-of-network deductibles.
Blue Access for MembersSM participant portal
Participants can find their medical plan information online using the Blue Access for Members participant portal. If your employees have not already registered, they can use their new medical ID card to register in just a few minutes.
Once registered, they will be able to:
- view claims,
- find in-network doctors, hospitals and other providers,
- choose or change their primary care provider and
- confirm their prior authorizations and referrals on file.
BCBSTX app
HealthSelect participants can also download the BCBSTX App to access the participant portal, their digital medical ID card and other plan details on the go. They should text BCBSTXAPP to 33633 to download.
