During last year’s Annual Enrollment, ERS asked all members and their adult dependents enrolled in Texas Employees Group Benefits Program (GBP) health coverage to certify whether or not they use tobacco.

If you or your adult dependents quit using tobacco or started using tobacco, please update your tobacco status. If you or your dependents’ status hasn’t changed, then you don’t have to do anything.

Also, dependents ,who turned 18 years old since September 2013 and were not certified as users or non-users, must be certified even if they don’t use tobacco by August 31, 2014.
