Do you have still have funds in your TexFlex account that you need to spend?

You have until August 31, 2018 to spend your Health Care FSA balance. The deadline to submit claims for eligible expenses incurred during the 2018 benefit year (September 1, 2017 – August 31, 2018) is December 31, 2018.

You can schedule doctor appointments, order new prescription glasses or visit the FSA store to use your remaining funds before the August 31, 2018 deadline. Band-Aids, contact solution and first aid kits can be eligible TexFlex health care expenses only at the FSA store.

Keep in mind, you can carryover a maximum of $500 into the next plan year, any remaining funds over $500 will be forfeited. If you are not enrolled in the TexFlex Health Care FSA for Plan Year 2019 and you have a balance between $25 and $500 from your Plan Year 2018, a 2019 account will automatically be created for you to continue using your funds. However, if you didn’t enroll for 2019, balances less than $25 will be forfeited after the claim submission deadline. Remember, you have until December 31, 2018 to file claims for eligible expenses incurred prior to August 31, 2018.

If you did not make any changes to your TexFlex contributions during Summer Enrollment, you will be automatically re-enrolled at your previous contribution elections.
