Say Hello to HR: Introducing the Coordinator of Student Employment (Part 8 of 10)

Dr. Blanchard announced some exciting changes regarding the Office of Human Resources at the beginning of the fiscal year. We’ll be periodically posting updates in The Source about those changes!

The Office of Human Resources is a full-service Human Resources department that is comprised of the following teams: Benefits and Compensation; Talent Acquisition, Development, Management, and Employee Relations; Payroll and Records; and Administrative. We’ll be featuring each team individually over the next few months so you can learn more about how our teams support student success through service excellence. UHD Office of Human Resources

We’re featuring the Coordinator of Student Employment, a brand-new position in the Office of Human Resources, in this edition of the Say Hello to HR series. This position, first announced by Dr. Blanchard in September 2023, is dedicated to the onboarding and development of student employees. We’re thrilled to announce that Cecealia Booty has joined the HR team as the inaugural Coordinator of Student Employment. Please join us in welcoming Cece to the team!

The Coordinator of Student Employment serves as the first point of contact for all student employee HR related matters and coordinates student employee engagement activities. The coordinator coordinates and administers recruitment support services for students and departmental managers while developing and implementing processes, procedures and policies in support of student employment. The coordinator also coordinates, maintains, and monitors institutional student employment programs in compliance with federal, state, and institutional guidelines and regulations, and collaborates closely with other HR functional areas and with Financial Aid to resolve any student employment matters.

By supporting the onboarding and development of UHD’s student employees, the Coordinator of Student Employment contributes to UHD’s strategic goal 1: enhancing student success, and to UHD’s strategic goal 4: being the employer of choice that supports a diverse and inclusive faculty and staff.
